Please contact us after the reservation request is made to make payment via BACS as we do not take payments online. After payment is received, we will then confirm the booking.

*Please note, there is a £20 per night per child charge for children aged 2-15 years old.
(We are unable to accommodate children/babies under 2 years).
This charge
 is not added to the price quoted on reservation request when adding children. All people 16 years and over are classed as adults and are charged at £40 extra per person per night when adding more than the 2 people per room base price.

There is a 2 night minimum stay during peak season (1st April - 31st October) 

We also have a 3 nights minimum stay during Bank holiday weekends.

We do 
occasionally accept 1 night stays during peak season if we have a gap between two other bookings so please feel free to contact us and ask if we have availability.

Charnwood is an elegant Victorian listed building offering Bed & Breakfast in Keswick, a small town in the English Lake District. This friendly, family run guest house is ideally situated in a quiet residential area, only 5 minutes walk from Keswick town centre, the lake and the mountains.
ROOMS

OUR ROOMS

We pride ourselves on the homely atmosphere in our family run guest house. All of our bedrooms are en suite. They have colour TV's, tea & coffee making facilities plus complimentary shampoo, shower gel and soap. We offer free Wi-Fi throughout the guest house.

Dogs

Unfortunately, as of 2024 we no longer accept dogs to stay due to some guests not following our rules.

We provide a free wifi service for all of our guests.

We change your towels, make your bed and replenish any teas and coffees on a daily basis, or whenever needed.

Dining

Keswick has a wide range of establishments to dine at. There are several pubs, cafes and chip shops; as well as Chinese, Indian, Thai, Italian and even fine dining restaurants.

Park

 

There are two great parks within Keswick: Crow park which is situated near the lake, which has mini and crazy golf courses; and Fitz park where you can play tennis and bowls. It also has a children's playground. 

                         Climbing Walls

There are a couple of climbing walls in Keswick which are Kong Adventure and Keswick Climbing Wall. These are great for those days when it may be wet outside but you want to still be active.

THINGS TO DO

Launch & Rowing Boats

 

Keswick is situated on the shores of Derwent water, where you can take a ride around the lake on the launch, or hire a rowing boat out, which is a great way to explore the more secluded parts of the lake.

Pencil Museum

 

Take a tour of the history of pencil making at the Cumberland Pencil Museum.This is a must for the whole family.

Honister Slate Mine

 

Take a guided tour into the awesome caverns, deep within this "working  slate mine". Available several times per day. Kids will love this one. Many extra attractions  have been added recently.

Rookin House Adventure Centre
Pony trekking, Quad bike safaris, Archery and JCB driving. Ideal for corporate activities. 8 miles from Keswick.
Castlerigg Stone Circle

 

1 mile East of Keswick, you can find a roughly 4,000 year old neolithic stone circle, with a 360 degree panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.

Theatre By The Lake

 

People come from far and wide to see the superb selection of quality plays put on every season. Dame Judi Dench is one of the theatre's patrons.
