Our aim is to offer our guests a comfortable and welcoming stay. We have a Victorian grade 2 listed terraced house with 4 letting bedrooms; this statement is a short summary of what we are able to offer. The nearest mainline train station is Penrith, which is about 18 miles from Keswick, times for trains can be checked on the above website. Parking is on the street with no restrictions. We can assist with luggage if necessary.
From the gate to the front door is a slate slabbed path to two stone steps 6 ½ inches high 16 inches wide into the vestibule, this is 53 inches wide. Entry is by pressing a door bell attached to the right of the main front door at approximately chest level. This door opens into a carpeted hallway 53 inches wide. This is where receptions takes place and keys are issued to the Guests. To the Left of the hallway as you enter the guest house is the only ground floor room open to Guests. This is the dining room and holds five tables one per bedroom. These tables are movable when required. The chairs that accompany them are padded for comfort. Breakfast is served in this room from 08:30-09:00am. Breakfast times can be altered with notice.
There are 12 steps 6 ½ inches high 11 inches wide to the first floor landing. This houses a private bedroom. Coming away from the first floor landing, follow the stairs up a further 5 steps to the 1st floor. Here you reach the first 2 bedrooms. Room 2 is a Family en suite room consisting of a double and a single bed, Room 3 is a family en suite bedroom consisting of 1 double bed and 1 double sofa bed with a standard bath. Continue up a further 12 steps to a small half landing which houses a fire extinguisher suitable for the use on paper fires. Turn to your left and move up another 6 steps and you reach the 2nd floor and the remaining letting bedrooms. Room 4 is a family en suite bedroom containing 1 double and 1 single beds. Room 5 is a double en suite bedroom. All en suite facilities include shower cubicles, lavatories and hand wash basins. All bedrooms have colour televisions, tea and coffee making facilities for your comfort. Hair dryers and ironing equipment are available on request.
We have a small garden at the front of the property, which has outdoor seating available for the use of the guests who wish to smoke or enjoy the sunshine.
Charnwood is a no smoking and vaping establishment. We have high-speed, wireless broadband available on request.
